Just an update on our new full time adventure doing terrazzo restoration in the Tampa Staint Petersburg, Clearwater area. We are starting a project for a mid century modern house. In this case, the terrazzo floors were covered with tile. The guys outsourced the tile removal and when the thin set was totaly removed they decovered that there were about 80 holes along each wall. At first they thought theproject was impossible, then they found our site and read about how we find filling in holes with the proper terrazzo chips an exciting challenge.
Once we arrived at the house we too saw the holes, it was clear to us that there was a series of three tack strips that were probably installed over the last 50 years. We figured that out based on the fact that the holes were 4″ apart.
Well I have to say this terrazzo restoration job was a real challenge, it took us a day longer to do the job then expected, but we got it done. Of course they were pleased with the outcome and the glass like shine and so were we since they live in a modern house that requires an attention to detail.

Nice post, thanks.
The article is usefull for me. I’ll be coming back to your blog.
Hello Bill
I was looking to see what existing blogs you have and I found this. I was thinking it might be interesting to do a whole series on historic architectural styles that utilized
floors, maybe broadening key word links to include architecture, historic buildings, modern architecture, Miami style architecture, interior design, etc.
I love this photpgraph
