At Colonial Floor Care we are able to restore many terrazzo floors that others cannot, owing to our expert methods. There are times however, when the stains left behind after removing old tiles that covered the terrazzo floors, are so deep and dark, that even we cannot satisfactorally remove them.
The unsightly patterns left behind by the old tiles are called “ghosting”. When severe ghosting occurs, we recommend a process different than our usual restoration process.
In these cases, we recommend covering the damaged floor with a custom tinted sealer. This sealer is a color matched meticulously to the chips in the existing, salvagable terrazzo flooring. The result is a highly attractive, uniform color that matches the original terrazzo floor. This color tinted sealer is also highly durable.
